Specialist developer of sate-of-the-art-long-distance drones and unmanned aerial systems(UAS) Cannon Dynamics, has acquired TASUMA (Target and Surveillance Aircraft Ltd), one of the leading UAS development and production companies in the U.K.
With a considerable pedigree in the unmanned sector, TASUMA Ltd has been a behind the scenes world leader for almost forty years in the design and development of uncrewed aircraft and systems, both small and large.
With a blue chip customer base, including a high percentage of of European and US defence prime contractors, TASUMA has designed and produced many well-known UAV platforms inflight today, under various guises and brands, around the world.

At the forefront of UAV launch systems and interrogation
TASUMA also has vast experience in the development and production of UAV launch systems, including large and small launchers, aircraft-specific support cradles and highly critical UAV strengthening, to withstand the high “G launch forces, which can otherwise be highly destructive to airframes.
Having supplied significant numbers of launch systems to the aerospace and defence sectors worldwide, the Cannon-TASUMA team offer significant knowledge and experience across this technology. The TASUMA team joining the Cannon group, adds further knowledge and expertise to an already extensive Cannon capability and the impressive Cannon uncrewed systems range.
Cannon Special Projects Division
The TASUMA division of Cannon now acts as the innovative Cannon special projects facility. The highly experienced design and build team will support projects where customers demand new customised UAV systems, requiring a high-level innovation.
Alongside standard UAV platforms and advanced concept and future flight projects, CANNON-TASUMA projects will include unmanned surveillance aircraft, target drones, and UAV launchers.
The production of Cannon Dynamic’s existing cutting-edge UAV platforms will continue, including the core UAV’s developed for cargo, heavy lift, and specialist sensor applications the DAGGER and SWORD.

The advanced technology and engineering resources of Cannon, which include multiple 3D CAD engineers, CAD-CAM,MRP2 systems, electronics and system integration teams, testing laboratories, professional production engineering, project management experience and multiple quality certifications, will combine well with the expanded ongoing capability.
